Rasmus Portmann has been working for over four years on the political and regulatory framework for carbon management and the development of a CO₂ infrastructure in Germany. Since 2022, he has served as Manager of Public Affairs at Gas- und Wasserstoffwirtschaft e. V., and since 2024, he has been the project manager for the German Carbon Management Initiative (DCMI). He also chairs the Transportation Working Group within the Carbon Management Forum of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE). He holds a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Essex and a master’s degree in Policy Analysis from Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg.
