Tim Hannig

CEO, HYTING GmbH
Tim Hannig is a mechanical engineer with over 20 years of international leadership experience spanning the automotive, hydrogen, and material handling industries. After two decades watching hydrogen's potential go unrealised in industrial heat, Tim founded HYTING GmbH in 2021 out of a conviction that decarbonising heat — one of the largest and most overlooked sources of industrial emissions — requires a fundamentally different technical approach, not an incremental improvement on existing solutions. HYTING is a German deep-tech company whose novel catalytic technology generates heat from hydrogen cleanly and without combustion — serving industrial process heat applications (up to 300°C) and space heating, for new installations as well as retrofits. Backed by 11 filed patents and validated across 2,500 hours of durability testing, the system achieves up to 114% of hydrogen's net calorific value — the highest efficiency of any commercially available emission-free hot-air system. With multiple customer installations already in operation and a validated business case, HYTING is delivering measurable impact today. Before founding HYTING, Tim held senior R&D and leadership roles across Europe, the US, and China — including positions at Jaguar Land Rover and Bentley Motors — and began his career developing early-stage hydrogen-powered forklift and warehouse vehicles. Since 2022, he has also served as a non-executive director of Fuel Cell Technology Sweden AB.
