Development of a Digital Twin
For over 30 years, SCHMIDLIN Labor + Service GmbH & Co. KG has been a reliable partner for gas generators, laboratory equipment, and accessories, supporting its customers in the design and specification of optimal products — all the way through to commissioning and ongoing service. By developing its own digital and intelligent products based on its existing gas generators, the company aims to significantly expand its business areas in the future.

SCHMIDLIN has equipped various classes of hydrogen generators with sensors in order to model them as virtual simulation models based on a generic model to be developed. In this context, both algorithms and machine learning approaches are being explored to create the most accurate possible virtual model — the Digital Twin. Based on this, suitable services or microservices related to Prognostics and Health Management can be researched and experimentally implemented for the intended applications. The research and development results will be prepared as part of a joint use case by the consortium.
