CFD for spray optimization
In carbon capture, the spray itself plays a crucial role in removing CO₂ from industrial gases. The process uses a liquid called an amine solution, which chemically binds with carbon dioxide.
Inside the absorption tower, the flue gas rises upward while a network of nozzles sprays a fine mist of amine droplets downward. The spray increases the surface area ratio optimizing the contact between the amine and the CO2 rich gas for better absorption.
By optimizing the spray pattern, droplet size, and coverage using our proprietary software (such as Virtual Overlapping Analysis - VOA), we can dramatically increase capture efficiency — making amine spraying a key factor in turning carbon capture from concept to large-scale climate solution.
