DILICO Hydrogen cell test system
The easy handling of the DILICO hydrogen cell test system characterizes the test bench for the analysis of PEM electrolyzer membranes. The proven baltic quickCONNECTfixture system serves as the basis for fast membrane integration. Using compressed air, the pressing force on the active cell area can be variably adjusted — an important parameter for the operation of electrolyzer membranes.
The cell can be actively preheated or cooled before and during operation to provide optimal conditions for comparative measurements. The DI water supply includes conductivity measurement and preheating for an optimal electrolysis process.
The produced gases — hydrogen and oxygen — are dried, their flow rates measured, and the composition of each gas stream determined, enabling the visualization of mechanical issues in the cell components.
Test procedures, such as time-resolved recording of current–voltage characteristics and other parameters, can be programmed in the software via scripts, allowing reproducible measurements to be carried out.
DILICO CURR TEMP, for distributed measurement of currents and temperatures on the membrane, is included as standard for the characterization of the electrolyzer cell. This measurement method visualizes different effects on current and temperature distribution across the membrane surface — such as drying, flooding, thermal hotspots, gas undersupply, cell clamping pressure behavior, and aging effects in different membrane regions.
