High-Strength Steel hydrogen cylinder
This innovative bio-polymer-based coating is applied to the interior of high-strength steel hydrogen cylinders, such as those used for 70MPa vehicle storage. It forms a brick-wall-like microstructure under heat and pressure, creating an exceptional barrier against hydrogen gas. This coating significantly reduces hydrogen permeation, with a rate as low as 2.27×10⁻¹⁵ mol·m/(m²·s·Pa) at 55°C/80MPa, effectively preventing hydrogen embrittlement and enhancing safety. It offers strong adhesion (≥30MPa), withstands temperatures from -40°C to 180°C, and survives over 10,000 hours of salt spray testing. This solution improves safety while potentially reducing material costs by 50-70% compared to alternative methods.
