rEM-X - Reversible Electrolysis
)
The rEM-X is a subsystem that integrates the hot balance of plant and stacks within a compact enclosure. To simplify integration into an electrolyser plant, multiple rEM-X units can be cascaded and come equipped with control systems, safety features, and flow regulation components. The system is capable of operating in both fuel cell and electrolysis modes.
In electrolysis mode, the rEM-X can produce up to 4.5 kg/h of hydrogen. In fuel cell mode, it delivers a maximum power output of up to 36 kW.
The r-EMX is supplied as a highly integrated unit and consists of:
- Five G8X-10 stacks
- HotModule, including:
- fuel heat exchanger
- air heat exchanger
- electrical heater
- insulation
- condenser
- catalytic pre-reformer (on demand)
- Instrumentation including:
- thermocouples
- pressure sensors
- electrical heater control
- compressor
- power electronics
- Control:
- PLC
- safety PLC
- interlock with plant
