Fraunhofer IMM: Generation of hydrogen from the hydrogen carriers ammonia and methanol
Ammonia is an ideal carrier for the storage and long-distance transport of green hydrogen. Fraunhofer IMM has developed a catalytic cracking process for the reconversion of ammonia using its well-established microstructure-reactor and tailor-made catalyst technology. Fraunhofer IMM's ammonia cracking process exhibits high efficiency due to its autothermal character: No external energy sources are required for the ammonia endothermic-cracking reaction. This video gives you a short overview of the industry relevant research activities regarding ammonia as hydrogen carrier and the related ammonia cracking at Fraunhofer IMM in Mainz, Germany.
