STEC - China' Largest CCU Project in Cement Industry (Annual Capture Capacity: 200,000 Tons)
This project is based on the No. 2 clinker production line of China United Cement Qingzhou Co., Ltd., establishing an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of CO₂ through an oxy-fuel combustion integrated with low-energy carbon capture demonstration line in cement kilns.
The project captures and purifies CO₂ via a physical adsorption integrated with adsorption-distillation process, achieving a CO₂ capture rate of 95%, a unit power consumption of approximately 250 kWh/t, and no steam or absorbent consumption, effectively reducing carbon capture costs.
As the largest carbon capture and utilization (CCU) project in China's cement industry and the first CCU initiative under the China National Building Materials (CNBM) Group, it has been included in the first batch of major scientific and technological research projects in the National Building Materials industry, as well as in the list of low-carbon technology research projects of the National Development and Reform Commission. Upon operation, the project is expected to deliver significant economic and social benefits.
