H2AM: Pioneering Hydrogen for Aviation & Maritime Mobility
The Hanseatic Hydrogen Center for Aviation and Maritime (H2AM) is a significant research and innovation initiative towards decarbonisation projects across the following key locations in Northern Germany: Hamburg, Stade, Bremen and Bremerhaven. The project is supported by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV), with a total funding of 70 million Euros.
The initiative focuses on the development and testing of hydrogen and fuell cell technologies for aviation and maritime applications.
Contributing to the goals of Germany’s national hydrogen strategy, H2AM aims to position the region as a leader for sustainable mobility solutions.
At the Bremen booth you can find information about two of the projects concetrated in Bremerhaven and Bremen:
- H2-3D test rig for development and testing of hydrogen components and ship propulsions by TTZ institute
- H2AM Cryogenic H2 Lab for the development of climate-neutral aircraft systems by DLR institute
