In 2022, Annet Stones joined IBM Consulting as Sustainability and Green Energy SME, based in Global Centre of Excellence, Industry Transformation Unit, Energy & Resources. She has a successful track record of repositioning multinational energy companies with respect to the Energy Transition. She assists clients to accelerate on their decarbonisation journey via digital transformation. E.g. act as focal point for the development digital solutions to advance uptake of CCUS and green/blue hydrogen, here particularly assisting clients to develop data platforms to trace and track CO2 along the supply chains and green energy certification. Further, she advises energy intense clients on carbon management frameworks for advanced digital portfolio optimization and strategic modelling.
As a Chemical Engineer by education, Annet worked 25+ years in one of the largest integrated oil and gas majors, where she had roles in all major businesses i.e. Downstream, Renewables, Project &Technology, and Upstream with a thread of sustainability, technology management and strategic relationship management. She was project lead to frame the response for one of the largest Downstream businesses, which resulted in the identification of a set of business opportunities including green hydrogen. She also advised governmental bodies on decarbonisation strategies.
