Florian Hüsing, born in 1990, studied mechanical engineering and production technology at RWTH Aachen University. In 2015, he completed his master's degree with a thesis on "Fundamental Research and Simulation of Diamond Ablation by Short Pulsed Laser Radiation". He then worked as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer IPT and took over as head of the "Laser Systems and Heating Technology" group in 2018. There he established the new research field Tailored Heat, dealing with temperature controlled 2D heating processes. Since January 2024, Mr. Hüsing is leading the department “Modular Production Machines” at the Fraunhofer IPT. The department researches & develops new production technology for the production of fuel cell and electrolyzer stack components, including machine systems specifically for this purpose.
