Marko Janhunen

Vice President, Public Affairs, Gasgrid Finland
Marko Janhunen is currently Vice President Public Affairs at Gasgrid Finland, the transmission system operator responsible for gas transmission, the transmission system in Finland, and the builder of the national hydrogen infrastructure. Gasgrid Finland is promoting three Projects of Common European Interest in the Baltic Sea region. The three projects received over 51 million EUR CEF funding to progress forward in to study phase. Marko is an expert in public policy issues related to environment and energy, climate change and green transformation issues with over 25 years of experience in European Union affairs. Marko is in the steering committee of Hydrogen Cluster Finland, a coalition of over 105 companies to promote hydrogen economy. He also chairs the regulatory affairs committee of the Hydrogen Cluster Finland. Marko is frequent speaker at various events, seminars and conferences on sustainable development and the hydrogen economy. Marko holds a master’s degree in political history issued by the University of Helsinki, a Masters in European Affairs from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium, and an Executive MBA from the Helsinki School of Economics. He speaks Finnish, English, Swedish, German and French.
