Rodrigo Retamal Marín
Research Associate,
TU Bergakademie Freiberg
Dr.-Ing. R. R. Retamal Marín studied mechanical engineering at the University of Talca (Chile). In 2021, he received his doctorate from the Technical University of Dresden in the field of particle measurement technology. Dr.-Ing. R. R. Retamal Marín's research activities are primarily focused on three key areas: the characterization and analysis of dispersed systems containing nanoparticles, the electrokinetic characterization of colloidal systems, and the development, construction, and implementation of spectroscopic methods and gas sensors in a variety of measurement contexts (e.g., offline, at-line, online, and in-situ scenarios). His expertise extends not only to solid particles, but also to the analysis of dissolved gases (e.g., H2, CH4, volatile fatty acids) from liquid single-phase or multiphase media (e.g., biogas plants) and research of relevant industrial gases relating to reductions of CO2 footprint – transition from natural gas to hydrogen and exhaust gas analysis (H2O, O2, CO2, NOX).
