Søren Konstmann Lausen is a highly experienced professional with over two decades of dedicated work, primarily at Aalborg Portland A/S. In his current role as Sustainability Project Manager, he is at the forefront of large-scale carbon capture initiatives. Prior to this, he held the position of Plant Director at Aalborg Portland, where he oversaw the operations of a major European cement plant. His extensive background also includes various management and engineering roles in process, research, and quality, as well as serving as Production Manager, responsible for comprehensive production operations. Søren holds an MSc in Chemistry and Physics from Aarhus University.
Mr. Lausen is intimately involved in the ACCSION Project, a crucial collaborative initiative between Aalborg Portland and Air Liquide. This project aims to capture an impressive 1.4 million tons of CO₂ annually from Denmark's largest cement plant, with the ultimate goal of permanent underground storage. This significant endeavor is supported by the European Union and has successfully secured €220 million in funding.
